The Exercise Physiologist assists in providing all therapy services assessed and planned for the clients by the Occupational Therapist and/or Physical Therapist. May function independently within the scope and objectives of the treatment plan. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Exercise Physiology at an Accredited School
  • Knowledge of Exercise Physiology techniques and anticipated outcomes
  • On the job training
  • Working knowledge of nutrition, exercise, behavior change principles, weight management, health promotion counseling and educational techniques.
  • One year of work experience using EP practice/principals or successfully complete an internship in the field.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters’ Degree in Exercise Physiology or Health Promotion
  • One or more years of experience as an Exercise Physiologist in Industrial Medicine, Rehabilitation or Cardiac Rehab
  • Experience with development and implantation of client/patient treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of work site health promotion strategies
