Job Summary In consultation and collaboration with Rehab leadership and the interprofessional healthcare team the Fitness Program Exercise Physiologist plans, organizes, and develops the fitness program. The fitness program provides goal-oriented personalized fitness and wellness program and under close supervision, provides ongoing feedback to help any adult on their path through fitness and wellness. This role will develop and create individualized exercise programs as well as provide and present community-based education through the development of specific exercise and wellness topics. This role will have matrix responsibilities and may be directed by the Executive Director, Site Supervisor, Area Manager and/or Regional Director of Rehabilitation Services, to assure that the highest degree of quality client care can be maintained at all times.

Requirements

  • College degree in a 4-year Exercise Physiology or related field
  • Clinical rotations performing individualized assessments and exercise programs
  • Proficient in English language
  • Proficient in utilization of interpretation services is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years' experience working with geriatric populations is perferred
  • Additional certification from one of the following professional organizations: American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association or the American Academy of Health and Fitness Professionals is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Guide clientele individually and in a group setting through exercise sessions.
  • Develop and create exercise programs for clientele with a wide range of abilities.
  • Develop and maintain programs and accurately document reporting of client progress.
  • Work closely with therapy team to develop and maintain cross referrals between programs.
  • Work closely with Supervisors, Managers, and Directors to optimize client outcomes and efficiencies.
  • Review and comply with all physician approvals to perform testing, initiate exercise and return to exercise from medical hold status.
  • Lead and develop community presentations on various exercise related topics.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with community members, families and clients to enhance patient experience, provide education and support programmatic growth.
  • Perform other duties as required.
