The Executive Publisher drives the strategic growth, performance, and editorial development of a journal portfolio, while managing and developing a high‑performing team and fostering strong relationships with editors, partners, and research communities.

Requirements

  • Proven management, leadership, and team‑building abilities.
  • Strong professional communication skills, with the confidence to engage, influence, and address a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, Publishing Directors, external editors (EiCs/EBMs), societies, authors, and wider research communities.
  • Solid understanding of the research/scientific process and scholarly publishing ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort with data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage business performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in a relevant discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing journals or research‑focused publishing teams.
  • Familiarity with Open Science, Open Access, and high‑volume publishing models.
  • Experience working with society/institutional partners or external editorial boards.
  • Demonstrated participation in cross‑functional or strategic organizational initiatives.
