About The Position

The Executive Operations Leader is responsible for providing strategic Operational leadership and oversight for GE Aerospace’s Power Distribution and Controls Business located in Vandalia, Ohio.. This role is a key member of the Power Generation Senior Leadership team and will align Operational objectives in partnership with this cross-functional to the achieve the strategic objectives of the business. This role has direct-line responsibility for over 250 Manufacturing, EHS, Facilities and Security team members and will partner closely Quality, Sourcing and FLIGHT DECK leadership to ensure operational objectives are met. The Executive Operations Leader for this business will report to the Electrical Power Operations Leader, who oversees Operations across all Electrical Power businesses. This role demands exceptional leadership, technical expertise in manufacturing, and a relentless focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, General, etc.), Operations Management, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, with progressive leadership roles demonstrating operational excellence and results.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex aerospace programs, production schedules, and budgets.
  • Extensive knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, etc.) and industry-specific regulations (FAA, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with company goals, ensuring production capacity and capability to support long-term aerospace programs. Deeply understand the specific aerospace market segments, customer requirements, and industry trends to identify opportunities and manage business risks.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and uphold a culture of safety in a complex manufacturing environment. Oversee production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance operations in accordance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001). Ensure the site operates in accordance with its externally accredited quality management system, exceeding customer expectations on product quality. Ensure on-time delivery, strict quality control, and compliance with complex aerospace certifications and regulations. Implement lean manufacturing, process improvement, and advanced technologies to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Define short- and long-term vision and execute strategies to meet both customer requirements and business needs: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and People. Drive rigorous Daily/Weekly/Monthly Management System and Problem Solving ensuring we meet key KPI's across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Inventory, and People. Passionately drive adoption of FLIGHT DECK (GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model) behaviors and fundamentals to achieve business results
  • Financial Accountability: Accountable for the facility's operations budget, optimizing profitability and operational efficiency within industry contracts and cost structures. Analyze and manage complex costs, including material, labor, overhead, and risks associated with long-lead-time components.
  • Team Leadership: Attract, develop, and retain a highly skilled workforce, providing mentorship, coaching, and promoting a culture of excellence within demanding specifications. Lead and empower direct reports, fostering a high-performance team driven by accountability. Be a key contributor/approver of the business Tollgate process for NPI and flow products. Partner with the sourcing team to create the optimizing make/buy footprint and inventory management. Build/grow relationships with critical customers partnering with the Program Management team on internal/external reviews. Own Plant and Equipment(P&E) strategy, execution, and adherence to spend. Maintain a positive working relationship with the local Union leadership. To be an active member of the business leadership team, steering the site, and supporting other functional leaders in achieving excellence.
  • Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with customers, responding to unique needs and ensuring consistent satisfaction. Oversee on-time delivery and unparalleled quality that exceeds customer specifications. Partner with the Program/Engineering teams early in the NPI process to define manufacturability, test strategies to ensure a successful product launch on-time and on-cost.
