The Executive Department provides strategic leadership for NYRR by working closely with the Board of Directors and Senior Leaders across the organization to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies to effectively lead the organization. The Executive Office serves as a central hub that coordinates the functions of all associated departments of the organization, while also focusing on strengthening our workplace culture, prioritizing, and allocating capital, unifying the organization, and promoting our mission of building healthier lives and stronger communities through the transformative power of running. The New York Road Runners Internship program is a paid, 21-week experience in which interns have the opportunity to learn from the best in the non-profit business. Interns will work collaboratively with professionals in their field of study and will have opportunities to network across the organization. The program will include professional development events and a chance to make a direct impact on the communities in New York City by working select events. Interns will receive onboarding and training to learn about NYRR and gain the knowledge needed to best perform in their role. Internship dates will be Monday, June 15, 2026 to Friday, November 13, 2026. The Executive Office intern will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of a variety of special projects and initiatives for the department leading into the 50th anniversary celebration of the five-borough NYC marathon in 2026. The individual will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and interface with external constituents. They will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Chief of Staff to build frameworks and formulate business cases for new initiatives and pilot programs for the organization.
