About The Position

The Executive Global Controller for the Assembly, Test, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (ATMRO) network will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting across the global ATMRO network within the Commercial Engines & Services segment of GE Aerospace. This role will drive strategic financial leadership, ensuring technical compliance with US GAAP, robust financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational accounting excellence to support the business' financial planning and analysis needs. The Executive Global Controller will serve as the primary accounting leader for the ATMRO network, overseeing commercial Time & Materials transactions, revenue recognition, and operational accounting across the business. The role will drive lean principles across the ATMRO controllership network, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) priorities. The Executive Global Controller will champion these lean methodologies to foster continuous improvement, respect for people, and customer-driven outcomes in all aspects of Controllership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with progressing leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Expertise in analyzing and resolving complex financial and operational challenges
  • Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Comfortable leading through uncertainty and driving results in dynamic environments

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent certification is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with lean operating concepts and application to Controllership and operational processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale programs/projects and influence outcomes in a matrixed organization

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide executive-level leadership for the global ATMRO Controllership function, including direct management of a global team of eight senior leaders. Responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent across the team to build a high-performing organization.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure accurate financial reporting for both US GAAP and statutory requirements across the ATMRO network. Serve as the senior expert for interpreting and applying US GAAP, GE policies, Enterprise Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and Process Maps to deliver compliant and best-in-class accounting services for GE Aerospace consolidated and statutory reporting.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive efficient, routine, and compliant close processes that enable standardization, simplification, and improved work/life balance for the accounting team. Lead efforts to reduce monthly close cycle time by 50% over the next two years. Use lean methodologies to identify waste, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency while maintaining a focus on quality and delivery
  • Technical Expertise: Provide strategic controllership support to ATMRO finance, operations, and Time & Materials commercial teams. Develop and implement strategies, policies, and processes to continuously improve Controllership within the MRO network and respond to evolving business needs.
  • ERP Transformation Leadership: Lead the Controllership aspects of the ongoing ERP transformation journey across the ATMRO shops, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Maintain a close working relationship with the ATMRO CFO, finance team, and other senior leaders. Build strong relationships across the ATMRO sites through regular travel and hands-on engagement with the business. Ensure shared accountability with operational and finance partners.
  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams to address complex accounting challenges, drive process improvements, and ensure alignment with GE Aerospace’s strategic priorities.
