Our well-proven expertise in medicinal chemistry, custom synthesis, and scale-up process chemistry enables us to support all aspects of drug discovery in a deeply integrated technology-driven platform. The Opportunity: X-Chem is seeking candidates for the Global Controller position. This role will work closely with the Divisional Controllers in Montreal, Canada and Budapest, Hungary to consolidate the financial statements on a monthly basis and support the preparation of the annual financial statements and footnotes. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including technical accounting
Experience with monthly close and consolidation of multiple legal entities
Familiarity with foreign entities and intercompany accounting
Experience coordinating with external auditors and leading audit processes
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and prioritization skills
Clear, effective communicatior with a collaborative approach to working across teams and geographies
Self-motivated problem solver who can proactively identify issues and drive solutions
Demonstrated ability to meet critical business deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of Financial Statements and US GAAP
Team-oriented mindset with a willing to support colleagues and balance workloads as needed
Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality results within established timeframes

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a private equity-backed organization
CPA certification
Experience in public accounting is highly valued

Responsibilities

Responsible for the timely consolidation of the Company’s monthly financial statements of multiple international legal entities (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
Responsible for Intercompany eliminations
Assist CFO with Lender reporting and monthly Board reporting and adhoc presentations
Primary contact for external auditors; Responsible for coordinating global activities
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Assist with optimization of global financial processes and systems
Ensure appropriate controls are in place for accurate and timely financial statement preparation
Primary contact for tax reporting and other regulatory reports
Responsible for US GAAP accounting research and memo preparation
Support the integration of acquisitions, as required
Perform other duties as assigned
