In house hit-to-lead and lead optimization services driven by AI and physics-based modeling enable clients to progress their compounds directly from hit all the way through to candidate nomination. Our well-proven expertise in medicinal chemistry, custom synthesis, and scale-up process chemistry enables us to support all aspects of drug discovery in a deeply integrated technology-driven platform.   The Opportunity: X-Chem is seeking candidates for the Global Controller position. This role will work closely with the Divisional Controllers in Montreal, Canada and Budapest, Hungary to consolidate the financial statements on a monthly basis and support the preparation of the annual financial statements and footnotes. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including technical accounting
  • Experience with monthly close and consolidation of multiple legal entities
  • Familiarity with foreign entities and intercompany accounting
  • Experience coordinating with external auditors and leading audit processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Clear, effective communicatior with a collaborative approach to working across teams and geographies
  • Self-motivated problem solver who can proactively identify issues and drive solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical business deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of Financial Statements and US GAAP
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willing to support colleagues and balance workloads as needed
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality results within established timeframes

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed organization
  • CPA certification
  • Experience in public accounting is highly valued

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely consolidation of the Company’s monthly financial statements of multiple international legal entities (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
  • Responsible for Intercompany eliminations
  • Assist CFO with Lender reporting and monthly Board reporting and adhoc presentations
  • Primary contact for external auditors;  Responsible for coordinating global activities
  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
  • Assist with optimization of global financial processes and systems
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for accurate and timely financial statement preparation
  • Primary contact for tax reporting and other regulatory reports
  • Responsible for US GAAP accounting research and memo preparation
  • Support the integration of acquisitions, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
