Pay rate betwen $20/hour-$30/hour Summary: Assembly Repair Mechanic are responsible to complete scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties. Duties for the above, but are not restricted to, preventative/predictive maintenance, tearing down rotating assemblies diagnosing failure and writing up report. Assembling machine/ rotating assembly once all parts are fixed back to OEM condition

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or have a GED equivalent
  • Flexibility to work any shifts to meet mill needs
  • Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill mechanic (including millwright, welding, and other fields as needed)
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)
  • Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety
  • Represent both company policy and direction
  • Develop knowledge of department and mill operations processes, equipment and systems
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively alone or within a team
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
  • Basic computer skills
  • Make timely and effective decisions

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, drawings, measure for bearing clearance and shaft diameters using inside/outside mics, and Romer Arm.
  • Dismantle machines as needed
  • Move and align machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Utilize hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
  • Operate cranes, and fork lifts
  • Use large bearing puller, torch, and light TIG welding
  • Install machinery; new and existing equipment, mill site if needed
  • Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues
