About The Position

The Executive Director of Operations is the leader of a dynamic, multifunction. The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring the THS facilities meet THS, industry standards, and client expectations for all THS clients utilizing THS facilities service members and ensuring that the THS facilities are maintained and operating at the highest levels of service. The Executive Director of Operations has a wide range of responsibilities, from financial planning to staff management and client satisfaction. This position requires frequent and significant nationwide travel to THS facilities (including multiple days working at remote facilities for up to 80% of the Executive Director of Operations’ work time), a high level of organizational skills, agility, strong mastery of leadership competencies, and personnel management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Hotel Management, or related major
  • Ten years of mixed management experience in facility management, guest services, , , , management operations, or related professional areas with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven experiences as a Detention Center Facility Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, , Resort Manager, or in a similar managerial role in the hospitality industry while managing property personnel.
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of program management tools and procedures.
  • Solid leadership and management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent customer interface skills.
  • Solid critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment, including proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts, including implementation of cost reduction and performance improvement efforts.
  • Preferred experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
  • Project Management preferred (i.e., PMP or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Manage, Lead, and Support the THS facility Team
  • Provide management oversight of THS facilities’ Directors in a meticulous manner to maintain THS high-quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and direction to facility Directors for the implementation of THS policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and the delivery of quality services to clients.
  • Be on-site at the facilities on a regular basis to observe operations and implement improvements.
  • In coordination with THS’ HR and leadership, the Executive Director of Operations will recruit, train, develop, and manage each facility team to ensure the client is highly satisfied with THS’ performance levels.
  • Establish relationships with clients and obtain regular feedback to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, permitting, and licensing requirements for each facility.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for each facility, including but not limited to logistics, safety, and procurement procedures.
  • Address client complaints and ensure client satisfaction through effective problem-solving.
  • Identify high-performing employees and see them through professional growth within THS.
  • Manage, document, and implement action expeditiously to address the underperformance of direct reports in coordination with leadership and Human Resources to support the business’ needs.
  • Regular communication with the VP of Construction and Sustainment to provide updates on the status of operations at each facility.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the VP of Construction and Sustainment Operations by full managing the daily details of all the field facilities, enabling the VP of Construction and Sustainment to develop the operational strategy more effectively.
  • Be the link between THS leadership and facilities personnel as a leader, analytical person, and decision maker to improve processes and service quality.
  • In coordination with THS leadership, the Executive Director of Operations will interface with Government personnel to address the client’s mission requirements.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of work standards, prepare personnel and project schedules, review work discrepancies, and communicate Government policies, purposes, and goals to all THS’ onsite subcontractors.
  • Prepare reports and analyze facilities performance, identify areas for improvement with proposals for implementation of methods for improvements.
  • Provide management, direction, administration, documentation, quality assurance, and leadership to THS’ nationwide facilities during the execution of contracts.
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules in coordination with THS leadership and clients to expand and contract facilities operations to rapidly address clients’ fluctuating needs.
  • Identify and formulate contracting needs for the facilities and coordinate with THS contract management operations to identify qualified vendors and suppliers to meet the facilities’ requirements.
  • Prepare budget forecasting for each facility under Executive Director of Operations’ supervision, manage the budget for such operations, and provide monthly detailed budget reports to THS leadership.
  • Coordinate with THS’ sales team to identify additional opportunities for THS and assist with presentations to clients.
  • Develop community outreach programs to increase THS’ access to the local qualified workforce.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures at each facility to improve efficiency and delivery of quality services.
  • Coordinate with THS leaders to assess and mitigate the operational risks at all facilities.
  • Establish communication processes and procedures for reporting any incidents at facilities in an expedited manner and resolving such problems.
  • Coordinate with the THS contracting team to provide input for new contracting opportunities and logistical requirements for new facility locations.
