About The Position

The Executive Director Finance Operations leads a multi-person team responsible for all areas of finance operations. Ensure internal control environment is sound and adhered to. Accountable for operational accounting function; financial statement accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP and GASB. Accountable for the operational and gaming regulatory compliance function in accordance with the Mississippi Gaming Commission and other government agencies. Ensure property compliance with all legal and company regulations and policies. Lead the annual budgeting process; architect, review, and summarize monthly/quarterly financial information to ensure execution of the annual and strategic plans; identify incremental business opportunities; help drive business performance across the enterprise. Collaborate with key property ‐ and corporate ‐ level executives, and present clear analyses and recommendations within FP&A and to corporate ‐ and property ‐ level executives and for the Board. Location: Gold Strike Casino - Tunica, MS

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience.
  • Extensive subject area expertise (e.g., gaming industry or function).

Responsibilities

  • Leads multi-person team responsible for all areas of finance operations.
  • Ensures quality processes are in alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, gaming regulations, other regulatory and internal control requirements.
  • Conducts ongoing risk assessments to ensure foundational health and mitigate risk; oversees risk management liability exposure for the property and monitors/governs related financial expenditures.
  • Drives key operational and strategic initiatives by developing and implementing a strategic plan and vision for the property consistent with the vision/mission and serves as a key member of the property’s executive committee.
  • Serves as both a financial and operational resource to the VP General Manager and operational division heads relative to the financial success and viability of the property.
  • Participates in the identification and development of business partnerships and relationships which may be beneficial to the long-term growth and success of the property; works closely with property department management to establish sound operational business practices and methods to ensure all projects and assignments produce quality results, remain within budget, and meet targeted deadlines.
  • Provides executive oversight and direction for the property finance division, to include financial planning and analysis, cage, credit, collections, marker operations, count team, workforce management, warehouse/receiving/inventory control, and operational accounting.
  • Approves credit and extend complimentary privileges, as needed.
  • Participates in research and develop, evaluate, and implement new products, services, technology, and processes to ensure competitive position, as needed.
  • Architects, reviews, and summarizes monthly/quarterly financial information to ensure execution of the annual and strategic plans.
  • Identifies incremental business opportunities and helps drive business performance across the enterprise.
  • Collaborates with all corporate and property stakeholders to understand and create solutions for business/analytical needs.
  • Presents clear analyses and recommendations to team leaders, senior management, and/or Board.
  • Drives change management activities.
  • Networks externally to seek appropriate benchmarks and ideas for innovation.

  • Leads the professional development of direct reports.
