Executive Chef 3 - Schools (K-12) Student/Child Nutrition

About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 3 for a School District located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area The selected candidate will have a direct impact on culinary operations as he or she will be responsible for culinary training and food quality across the district. Our Executive Chef will also oversee catering functions and will create culinary promotions to further increase student meal purchases.

Requirements

a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
strong coaching and employee development skills
Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Nice To Haves

previous experience in a K-12 environment is preferred
have a passion for food and innovation

Responsibilities

be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production
oversee the PrimeroEdge food management system for multiple units
menu development
ensure Sodexo and USDA Culinary standards including recipe compliance are food quality are implemented and maintained
oversee catering functions within the district
have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid staff)
provide stellar customer/client service
ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
