About The Position

Overview: The Executive Assistant to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a trusted partner who enables high-impact leadership across Information Technology Services (ITS) and the university. This role manages the CIO’s time, priorities, and communications, ensuring focus on the most important institutional and strategic work. The Executive Assistant coordinates meetings, prepares materials, and ensures interactions are purposeful, well-structured, and outcome-oriented, while tracking key priorities and deadlines to maintain momentum. By anticipating needs, triaging requests, and removing operational friction, this role allows the CIO to remain focused on strategy, relationships, and leadership. The Executive Assistant also contributes to a well-informed, connected, and engaged ITS team culture. Essential Functions: Manage and prioritize the CIO’s calendar and commitments, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and protecting time for focused, high-impact work. Review and route communications and requests, responding to where appropriate and elevating critical issues to enable timely, informed decision-making. Track strategic priorities, action items, and deadlines, ensuring consistent follow-through and accountability across initiatives. Coordinate meetings and engagements, ensuring clear agendas, defined outcomes, and strong preparation to maximize effectiveness and results. Anticipate needs and remove operational friction, proactively improving workflows and enabling the CIO to remain focused on leadership, strategy, and relationships. Support coordination and communication across ITS and campus partners, ensuring alignment, clarity, and a well-informed, engaged, and high-performing team environment. Other duties as assigned.
