The Executive Assistant for the Land Preservation department is responsible for assisting with the completion of real estate transactions. Updates internal District real estate records and submits documentation to Lake County for tax exempt status. Conducts research on real estate issues that may include a variety of factors related to physical and legal status of a property. Assists with the implementation of land transactions including working with realtors, sellers, attorneys and other District staff. Coordinates requests for appraisals, title commitments, surveys, and environmental studies, and requests real estate contracts from District counsel. This position also coordinates monthly Planning Committee meetings, working in conjunction with the Executive Director, Director of Land Preservation, and Manager of Board Operations, which involves assembling agendas; drafting recommendations, resolutions, ordinances and policy direction; communicating with other departments, and attending the meetings. Performs lifting tasks up to 25 pounds. Drives a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting.
