About The Position

The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENME D . This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “ Physicianeers .” ENME D delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years. The Executive Assistant I provides administrative support to the department leadership and faculty. Work involves coordinating high-level operations of the department. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. Salary: W ill be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience . Please note: This position is fully funded for one (1) year. Continuation of employment beyond the initial year is contingent upon the availability of additional funding and is not guaranteed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of office administration

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates meetings, and other activities
  • Schedules appointments and manages calendar.
  • Prepares travel arrangements and itineraries and may approve and process travel reimbursements.
  • Provides technical guidance and advice on administrative matters to department management and faculty.
  • Coordinates and monitors action items and assignments made by the department head and faculty.
  • Communicates policies, procedures, standards, and methods.
  • Interprets policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Assists in compiling reports, maintains records and other documents.
  • Drafts and manages correspondence and communications.
  • Prepares notices or agendas for meetings.
  • Responds to inquiries, resolving problems or inquiries.
  • Reviews administrative practices and programs and assists in formulating policies.
  • Plans and coordinates logistical and administrative support for events, meetings or other special functions and provides on-site support.
  • May have fiscal records management responsibilities.
