About The Position

The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Correspondent Production is responsible for leading, scaling, and optimizing the organization’s correspondent lending production platform. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to drive volume growth, profitability, seller relationships, and market expansion while ensuring compliance, credit quality, and operational discipline. The EVP will serve as a senior leader and key contributor to the firm’s overall growth strategy.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of mortgage lending experience with significant correspondent leadership experience.
  • Proven record scaling correspondent platforms.
  • Deep understanding of correspondent products, including non-QM and agency.
  • Strong strategic, financial, and leadership skills.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the correspondent production strategy aligned with company objectives for volume, margin, and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities, including geographic expansion, new seller relationships, and product offerings.
  • Lead pricing, hedging alignment, and margin optimization in partnership with capital markets and finance teams.
  • Monitor industry, competitive, and regulatory trends impacting correspondent lending.
  • Lead national correspondent sales efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of seller clients.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key correspondent partners.
  • Establish seller segmentation, call strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as an executive point of contact for top-tier sellers and strategic accounts.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing correspondent production team.
  • Set clear goals, accountability standards, and performance expectations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operations, underwriting, credit, and capital markets to ensure efficient execution.
  • Ensure adherence to credit policies, investor guidelines, and fair lending standards.
  • Support operational enhancements to improve turn times, pull-through, and seller experience.
  • Own production forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Analyze volume, profitability, pull-through, and concentration risk.
  • Present production results to executive leadership as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations.
  • Partner with compliance and legal on audits and issue resolution.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate production-related risks.
