About The Position

The primary focus of this position is to plan, coordinate, and execute premium group tailgate experiences and also support the Air Force Sports Camps, clinics, and special events program as a member of the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC) Events Management team. This individual will assist in managing all revenue generating premium group tailgate experiences for the AFAAC and Air Force Academy Department of Athletics, including bidding, planning, coordination, execution/management and billing.  This position will assist with Associate Athletic Director of Special Events & Sports Camps and the Director of Events- with designing, promoting, and delivering memorable premium group tailgate experiences in Falcon Alley throughout the football season and will also manage special events as assigned, and support Sports Camp operations, planning and logistics.  Ensures compliance with all NCAA, Air Force and USAFA policies associated with revenue generating opportunities. Reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Special Events & Sports Camps and may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sport marketing, administration, management or a related field is required 
  • Strong organizational and event management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a large number of stakeholder simultaneously is a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and game days as required by athletic schedules.
  • Understands and upholds standards befitting the USAFA and Air Force Athletic Department.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in event coordination, hospitality management, ticketing, or sports/event operations preferred.
  • Passion for sports, fan engagement, and premium guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Falcon Alley Tailgates within “The Hanger”, premium group experiences, and special events associated with Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation.
  • Coordinate event logistics including space setup, catering coordination, guest services, and event flow to ensure high-quality hospitality/tailgate experiences
  • Provide on-site event support and customer service to ensure a positive and memorable experience for all guests and partners.
  • Maintain accurate client records and provide reports and tracking for event participation and revenue generating initiatives.
  • Support game day operations, including management of hospitality areas, greeting clients and partners, and overseeing group experiences and special activations.
  • Support large number of community/special events a year, including but not limited to: youth sports tournaments, high school graduations, stadium events, etc.
  • Oversee facility rentals including contracting, oversight and final billing. 
  • Will assume a lead role for multiple special events throughout the year which includes managing the project from start to finish, contract negotiation, facility deconfliction, on site logistics, follow up and final billing
  • Support sports camps and clinics operations, in areas including but not limited to social media, community outreach, marketing campaigns, staff management, dorm supervision and night rec oversight.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
