About The Position

Provide operational oversight for events taking place in Jack Adams Hall and related special event spaces. Provide customer support and ensure a positive client experience. Advise clients and vendors regarding adherence to event floor plans and service orders, as well as Associated Students policies and procedures, and relevant San Francisco State University policies. Oversee the safety of guests, vendors, and staff, working with the client to correct unsafe or non-compliant situations as necessary. Troubleshoot facility and personnel issues as they arise. Continually survey areas adjacent to Jack Adams Hall and relevant event spaces for negative impact caused by special events. Assure rapid response, when/if necessary. Advise clients of policies regarding the consumption regulations. Liaise between the client and relevant vendors, and Associated Students and San Francisco State University staff. Communicate with relevant staff of Technical Services, Building Management, and Operations, confirming event timeline and requesting service when necessary. Oversee the client load in and load out and perform locking and closing procedures for Jack Adams Hall and special event spaces. Complete and send official event record via the Event Supervisor Log

Requirements

  • Currently SF State students enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester units for undergraduates and 4 units for graduates.
  • 1 year customer service experience
  • 1 year of supervisory/shift lead/keyholder experience, preferably in a customer facing role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organization and recordkeeping skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of applicable rules, policies, and procedures related to event operations and management.
  • Independently make supervisory decisions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Basic computer skills required.
