About The Position

We’re looking for an Event & Retail Marketing Manager who is outgoing, hands-on, and ready to build and lead a high-performing team of Brand Ambassadors. This role is perfect for someone who loves home shows, festivals, retail pop-ups, fairs, and RSVP-style events — and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to make them a success. If you’re motivated by hitting goals, developing people, and creating memorable customer experiences, this could be your next big move. This is a leadership role that blends strategy, execution, coaching, and performance management.

Requirements

  • A natural people person with high energy and confidence
  • Experienced in event marketing, field marketing, or experiential marketing
  • Comfortable supervising and motivating a team of 6–10
  • Goal-oriented and competitive — you love hitting targets
  • Organized and detail-focused, even in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends (this is when the action happens!)
  • Adaptable, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure
  • Travel is required throughout the Central New York (CNY) region
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends (this is when the action happens!)
  • 2-year degree or equivalent event experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the event, retail, and RSVP marketing calendar across Central New York
  • Identify and secure high-traffic, high-impact event opportunities
  • Actively generate leads at home shows, trade shows, festivals, fairs, and retail activations
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of 6–10 Brand Ambassadors
  • Create staffing schedules — and jump in when needed
  • Develop measurable event action plans (appointments per hour, sweepstakes entries, cost per lead, etc.)
  • Track budgets and analyze performance metrics to maximize ROI
  • Build relationships with event organizers, retail managers, promoters, and community partners
  • Support social media promotion tied to events
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on special projects
