About The Position

This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work week and no more than 39 hours per week. The pay is $22.53 an hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. Location These positions may report to work between 6 different event facilities: Central Park Pavilion, Chief Hosa Lodge, City Park Pavilion, Fleming Mansion, Montclair Civic Building, and Washington Park Boathouse. What You’ll Do The Denver Parks Permitting team provides direct customer service and administrative support to those requesting various types of use permits for the City of Denver's parks and facilities such as, but not limited to: athletic events, assemblies/demonstrations, facility rentals, public events and special occasions. Our customers include individual citizens and visitors, non-profit and for-profit organizations and businesses, sports delegations, neighborhood organizations, City Council offices, City Agencies, and more. The Parks Permitting team processes permits according to City and Department policies and rules - ensuring safe and compliant use of Denver's treasured parks and facilities. Requirements

  • We are seeking organized and confident professionals with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail explaining and enforcing department policies and procedures.
  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
  • Two (2) years of customer service work in special events or related industry
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
  • Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Flexibility to adapt and respond quickly to changing demands and priorities within the team
  • Comfortable working a varied schedule, including availability to work on evenings and weekends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word; and the use of mobile phone applications

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-site point of contact for events hosted at various City facilities, overseeing event operations to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and permit agreements
  • Conduct facility tours for prospective customers, highlighting and promoting facility features
  • Lead walkthrough meetings with permit holders to finalize event logistics
  • Interpret, apply, and clarify regulations, policies, and procedures for permit holders
  • Maintain clear communication and coordination with internal and external customers, including email and phone correspondence
  • Ensure event facilities are well maintained, including tidying and organizing as needed, and promptly reporting any issues to supervisors or maintenance staff
  • Assist customers with their event setup/cleanup to oversee proper handling of facility furniture and ensure cleanup expectations are met
  • Address event-related emergencies promptly and effectively, resolving issues as needed; Coordinate with supervisors to address and resolve any emergent issues
