About The Position

The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent IDD/BH diagnoses. These individuals are facing psychiatric challenges and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that are impacting on their essential functions, potentially jeopardizing their ability to stay in their usual home environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Supervisor of Crisis Services for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at the Crisis Services and Diagnosis Center (CSDC) to lead and manage this state-of-the-art program. This is an exciting and impactful role for an individual with the drive and commitment to improve the lives of people with disabilities. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high-quality programs in accordance with Georgia DBHDD guidelines, regulations, and standards. This position oversees all operations of a 16-bed facility, including compliance, program growth and development, budget management, and workforce development.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain certification through the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed.
  • Position may require some local travel; the candidate must have own transportation.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company policy.
  • Ability to lift at least 5 pounds.
  • Position requires long periods of sitting and standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, psychology, public health, etc.) from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a behavioral health and/or IDD program.
  • Ethical Practices: Adhere to DBHDD and State of Georgia guidelines for ethical practices.
  • Collaboration: Understand and interpret organizational, state, and federal regulations, including professional development, safety training, and confidentiality policies, and collaborate with other behavioral professionals.
  • De-escalation Training: Ability to certify in crisis prevention de-escalation methodology and provide training to staff to ensure consistent care.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Remain calm emotionally and physically, and refrain from inappropriate responses to challenging behaviors (e.g., verbal threats, spitting, name-calling).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Experience working in or managing a healthcare setting.
  • Experience serving as a supervisor in a crisis setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize a therapeutic program using a biopsychosocial approach to provide crisis support for admitted individuals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical, behavioral, and social teams to ensure holistic services are delivered.
  • Oversee the optimal functioning of the unit and ensure the quality of health care provided by all staff.
  • Consistently enhance staff and patient satisfaction by providing an experience that exceeds expectations and supports a respectful environment.
  • Facilitate and document the monthly Process Improvement Committee (PIC) meeting and present quarterly reports to the CQI team. Compile the Annual PIC report, track trends, identify areas of improvement, and report results.
  • Facilitate unit leadership team meetings, contributing to management of unit and client concerns through multidisciplinary strategies and actionable plans.
  • Review time records of non-exempt subordinates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Notify management and/or Human Resources promptly when salaried employees leave the payroll due to resignation or require pay adjustments for leave without pay or other issues.
  • Comply with legal requirements and agency policies regarding Family Leave requests and other leaves of absence.
