You will have the opportunity to participate in company training opportunities, events, and community volunteer opportunities.
Requirements
- Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or similar degree
- Must be authorized to work in the US PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc.) for this position
- Any experience using the following; On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel and Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software
- Required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take offs
- Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of unit pricing and a general understanding of conceptual estimating
- Prior experience working in construction
- Have a general understanding of contract agreements; Lump Sum, Design Build, Project Management, Construction Management, Public/Private Partnership
Responsibilities
- Reviews quantity survey assignment with lead estimator
- Performs general sub-trade solicitation duties
- Bid document control
- Performs bid day assignments
- Sub-trade bid reviews and recapping
- Visits job sites periodically
- Use of in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating)
- Develops relationships with subcontractors
- Other duties as assigned
