About The Position

W.W. Gay is seeking an Estimating Intern. This is a seasonal, entry-level position open to active students pursuing a college degree in a field applicable to construction, with an interest in Project Cost Estimating and/or Project Management. The Estimating Intern will be responsible for assisting the Estimating Department by learning the basics of our on-screen takeoff software and preparing quantity takeoffs from engineered drawings.

Requirements

Fast learning, focused, and driven individual with an interest in mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
Ability to accurately and consistently execute processes and provide the same quality work product daily.
Ability to take directions from departmental managers and/or instructors.
Exceptional written, verbal communication skills and listening skills
Strong work ethic, Professional, Dependable, Punctual, Positive Attitude
Organization and attention to detail
Mid-level to advanced computer skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
0–1-year experience in Trimble AutoBid, prior experience is preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Actively pursuing associate degree or higher-level education in field applicable to construction
40 hours/ week in Jacksonville office. No remote work.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
