About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and quotes based on customer-supplied drawings. The role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, identify critical tolerances and inspection requirements, and use estimation software along with other standard PC programs. You will collaborate closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate and efficient estimating. This includes working with the Purchasing Department to obtain material costs, partnering with Engineering to determine optimal material usage and fabrication methods, and coordinating with Production to evaluate and establish fabrication options. Maintaining performance metrics—such as turnaround time on estimates and win/loss rates—is also an important part of the role. Continuous improvement is key, so you will regularly seek feedback from Production to refine estimating accuracy. In addition, you will contribute to overall team success by supporting tasks within the Estimating Department and assisting other departments, including Production, as needed.
