About The Position

Under general supervision, the Estate Specialist attempts to locate consumers’ representatives, and/or consumers' assets to secure payments. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Mails letters to consumers’ representatives to notify and encourage payment of outstanding balances. Calculates payment arrangements and negotiates settlements which may require attorney/client approval. Confers with consumers’ representatives by telephone in attempt to determine potential collectibles from estate or other assets of decedent and review terms of sales, service, or credit contract. Documents information about financial status of estate and status of collection efforts. Documents information about financial status of estate and status of collection efforts. Searches internet, credit bureau reports, and obituaries to verify the date of death and the family member responsible for the financial affairs. Ensures all required procedures and paperwork are accurate, complete, and in accordance with client guidelines and applicable state laws – Forcing an estate. Files claims. Identifies potential after date of death charges, the party responsible for making charges, and recommends appropriate actions to clients. Monitors files to ensure the letters are received; locates additional addresses if the mail is returned. Meets minimum standards for daily calls, files worked and goals. Handles files in accordance with WWR and client standards, follows scripts and regulatory compliance requirements. Approaches contact with consumers’ representatives and third parties with a high level of professionalism/customer service on a recorded and monitored phone line. Reviews and attempts to resolve rejected claims and/or forwards to attorney for further action. Contacts clients, consumers’ representatives, attorneys, and courts for status updates and to request/supply additional information and documentation. Complete all required training applicable to assigned position. Additional duties as requested or required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 0-3 years relevant business experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills.
  • Consistently achieves 85%or better on monthly revenue goals.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operation, including internet research.
  • Maintains composure in difficult situations.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Work flexible hours – day, evening, and rotating Saturday mornings.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
