About The Position

The ESPN Research team is part of the Finance, Strategy and Research organization. The team utilizes all facets of media research (Nielsen, Adobe Analytics, Comscore/Shareablee, etc.) and primary research to inform the company about how the sports category, sports fandom, and specific sports content is performing, and how ESPN can drive even greater consumption in the future. The dates of this internship are June 8, 2026 - August 14, 2026, located in ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, CT. As an intern, you will participate in the collection, analysis, and communication of audience data for ESPN's linear, digital, streaming, and social media properties. The focus for this internship will be digital and social sports, both on ESPN.com, ESPN App and ESPN Social platforms. The intern will be charged with providing actionable insights to ESPN's Digital, Social & Streaming Content department, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, and other core constituents.

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working with data and high attention to detail
  • Eager to learn new tools and data organization processes
  • Strong interest in television content and the media landscape
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Bristol, CT area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sports and the sports media landscape
  • Previous experience in media and entertainment (academic or internship)
  • Junior or Senior year preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Business Administration, Finance or related major preferred

Responsibilities

  • Using Comscore/Shareablee software to query data for digital/social properties and programs
  • Aiding in data analysis for ESPN and competitive content across ESPN digital, social, and streaming
  • Working on research projects, including team/player social analysis, social listening, and fan community activities covering ESPN sports properties
