About The Position

The work involves overseeing, implementing, and enhancing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems at Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC). The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the ERP systems, including automation, integration, and reporting, and develops processes and procedures related to ERP systems to optimize business needs. The incumbent will act as strategic liaison with hospital leadership in IT, Finance, Revenue Cycle and Materials Management to ensure successful implementation, drive innovation, and promote efficiency in these areas. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Information Officer. Supervision may be exercised over lower-level technical and clerical staff. Does related work as required.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Masters Degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration or related field and three (3) years of enterprise systems integration, implementation or data management experience;
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration or related field and five (5) years of enterprise systems integration, implementation or data management experience;
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
  • Thorough knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems;
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and accreditation standards as they relate to information technology applications utilized in a hospital setting;
  • Thorough knowledge in automation processes;
  • Good knowledge of healthcare financial operations, including strategy based budgeting systems and revenue cycle processes;
  • Ability to implement new systems or amend existing systems utilized by ECMCC and its various stakeholders;
  • Ability to develop and implement system policies and procedures;
  • Ability to translate business needs into system functionality;
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of ERP systems across IT, Finance, Revenue Cycle and Materials Management;
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of ECMCC's Information Technology technical strategic direction, incorporating ECMCC's mission, goals and budget;
  • Creates processes and procedures for integrating new ERP systems within existing systems;
  • Collaborates with leadership in IT, Finance, Revenue Cycle, Materials Management and executive leadership to align business processes with ERP functionality;
  • Creates and develops policies and procedures to ensure enterprise resource planning systems and technologies support organizational goals, financial objectives, contract management and procurement needs;
  • Assists in budget formation and procurement support;
  • Leverages system capabilities and business understandings to define technology initiatives and optimize business needs;
  • Manages and optimizes ERP systems and budget integrations with Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring accurate and seamless financial, revenue cycle and supply chain data exchange;
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows through system integration and automation;
  • Configures and enhances automation scripts, workflows and reporting tools to reduce manual work and improve efficiency;
  • Evaluates new system capabilities and recommends enhancements to meet evolving organizational needs;
  • Monitors system performance, resolves user issues, and escalates technical concerns as necessary;
  • Develops and maintains financial, operational and supply chain reports and dashboards;
  • Ensures data accuracy for strategic decision making, performance tracking and regulatory compliance;
  • Collaborates with IT teams and vendors to support and maintain interfaces with data warehouse, budgeting software and other enterprise systems;
  • Maintains data integrity, enforces system security protocols, and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements;
  • Provides system training, reports, documentation and ongoing support to leadership and staff across departments as necessary;
