About The Position

Erie High School is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and highly effective educational leader to serve as Principal. The principal is responsible for fostering a safe, positive school culture; leading instructional improvement; supervising staff; and supporting the mission and values of USD 101 and the Erie community.

Requirements

  • Kansas Building Leadership License (or eligibility).
  • Masters degree in Educational Leadership/Administration.
  • Successful secondary teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative experience and familiarity with MTSS, SEL, CTE, and modern secondary instructional practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional leadership focused on high-quality teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Observe, evaluate, and support certified and classified staff.
  • Oversee daily school operations, scheduling, student supervision, and compliance with KSDE and district policies.
  • Promote a positive school climate with high expectations for academics, behavior, and student engagement.
  • Implement consistent, fair discipline and support restorative practices.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Manage the school budget, safety procedures, and crisis-response plans.
  • Lead data-driven decision-making and school improvement planning.
