Position Details: As a Veterinary Technician in the ER department, you will be responsible to: Triage and monitor incoming patients, including critical and fractious cases Administer treatments, medications, oxygen therapy, and IV fluids Place and maintain catheters, central lines, and urinary catheters Perform diagnostic tests (bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasound, CT/MRI) Assist in emergency procedures (CPR, thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis) Ensure accurate documentation and communication with both doctors and pet owners Provide supportive care for post-surgical and long-term patients Maintain and stock emergency equipment and supplies Demonstrate calmness, critical thinking, and teamwork under pressure Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience (specialty medicine preferred)
  • Strong math skills for drug dosing, CRIs, and invoicing
  • Must obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days (waived with valid CA-RVT license)

Nice To Haves

  • CA-RVT license preferred
