Welcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. About the Role: Emergency and Critical Care Assistants (ER/ECC) play a vital support role in providing urgent and intensive care to animals in critical conditions under the supervision of veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians.

Requirements

  • At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that required animal restraint and taking radiographs
  • Experience in a emergency/specialty setting
  • Knowledge of EasyVet or similar medical record systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.
  • Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.
  • Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.
  • Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
  • Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technician
  • Clean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.
  • Assist in Ultrasound if needed.
  • Laundry
  • Basic grooming as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.
