The Equity Research Summer Internship Program at Mizuho Securities is an 11-week immersive experience, with placements made directly into one of the following sectors: Consumer, Energy, Healthcare, Industrials, Financials, and Technology. The first week involves training by leading professionals on modeling and valuation, followed by 10-weeks working closely with a senior publishing analyst and her/his team. Towards the conclusion of the program, summer interns are expected to deliver a stock pitch before a panel of Mizuho research management and senior analysts. Summer interns will have unparalleled access to senior members of Mizuho via our “Lunch and Learn” program and opportunities to interact with their fellow interns in Corporate and Investment Banking, Research, and Sales & Trading teams in both Equities and Fixed Income. Presentations to senior management are required, providing the interns with an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned during their internship. In addition, emphasis is placed on networking opportunities, ongoing training throughout the program, and opportunities to explore NYC. Requirements

  • Must be a current sophomore undergraduate student with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028
  • Must demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets and their global impact
  • Must be hardworking, a self-starter, a quick learner, a leader, and have the ability to multi-task while still maintaining an extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Must possess both strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, have a positive attitude and work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and analyzing company- and industry-specific data
  • Building, updating and maintaining Excel-based financial models
  • Contributing to company- and industry-specific research reports
  • Conducting proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape, and analyzing industry trends and company news
  • Helping to prepare for industry conferences and marketing events
  • Using AI tools to build prompt engineering skills and streamline research processes
  • Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
