About The Position

The Equipment Technician supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production and test equipment used in the manufacture of power electronics products. This role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing equipment uptime, reliability, and safe operation while supporting continuous improvement, production efficiency, and quality objectives. The Equipment Technician works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Facilities teams to support day-to-day manufacturing operations and the introduction of new equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a production or industrial environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and electromechanical systems
  • Experience using electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes)
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance and equipment calibration practices
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) for documentation and tracking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to production priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Basic soldering and wiring experience preferred
  • Experience supporting power electronics manufacturing or high-voltage equipment
  • Experience with manufacturing test equipment, burn-in systems, or automated test setups
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing and test equipment to support production operations
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, electromechanical, and automated equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Support installation, setup, qualification, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Calibrate and verify equipment in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and quality standards
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and work instructions
  • Support minor equipment modifications, retrofits, and upgrades to improve safety, performance, and reliability
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements and equipment optimization initiatives
  • Document equipment issues, maintenance activities, calibration records, and corrective actions
  • Support production during equipment-related issues and participate in continuous improvement activities (Lean, 5S, root cause analysis)
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety requirements, operating procedures, and company standards
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned
