Heads and Engineers with achieving process objectives, identifying sources of variation, improving processes, and providing support for product developments. Responsible for line specific day-to-day operation and executing a small scope continuous improvement or learning opportunity. Work reviews with plant leadership will occur mid-summer and end of summer. Requirements

Pending Junior or Senior in Engineering Major (preference for Mechanical, Electrical, or Material Science majors)
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th - July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
Be willing to work at the posted job location.

Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC / DESGN) methodology
Process engineering skills (quantitative skills, coursework in engineering statistics or other statistical training, technical writing, ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers and managers)

Responsibilities

Provide engineering expertise for fundamental understanding of manufacturing issues
Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts
Provide engineering-level production support to manufacturing operations
Recommend and implement improvements to processes and equipment
Lead and/or support projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new technology migrations into the plant
Work with other team members and departments to ensure that product output at each process step meets or exceeds manufacturing budgets and goals
