About The Position

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED AN HOURLY RATE OF $19.50. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community. OEEO is seeking one (1) highly motivated and detail-oriented Equal Employment Opportunity Undergraduate Intern to join our team. As an Equal Employment Opportunity Undergraduate Intern, you will support our OEEO team in day-to-day operations and contribute to providing equal employment protections to ACS staff. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the agency, and learn how to implement equal employment policies, procedures, and initiatives within a government organization. Additionally, as a member of the 2026, ACS Summer Internship Program cohort, you will participate in an enrichment program designed to fully engage students into the ACS and NYC government experience. Internship programming includes professional development workshops, lunch and learns, speaker events, NYC government tours, and networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • You must be an undergraduate and must either be currently enrolled in a college or university or must have graduated within one year of the current program year.

  • As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
  • Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with OEEO team to develop standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with performing operational audit checks in the OEEO Submission Intake Application (Issuetrak) to ensure relevant updates are being made by OEEO staff.
  • Assist with updating legacy information entries that were recently migrated into a new application.
  • Assist with gathering and compiling OEEO data from various sources for internal/external reporting purposes.
  • Assist with preparing reports and presentations, and related special projects as needed.
