Job Description We are seeking a skilled Epic Beaker Analyst with hands-on experience in clinical laboratory workflows, external reference lab integration, and LIS systems. This role is critical to ensuring seamless lab operations across internal and external systems, supporting both Clinical Pathology CP and Anatomic Pathology AP modules.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Epic Beaker build/configuration
  • Epic Beaker certification or current NVT status
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HL7 interface development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, LIS systems, and specimen lifecycle management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Experience with interface engines and middleware systems.
  • Familiarity with Epic Bridges or Interconnect.
  • Familiarity with Order Transmittal.
  • Experience supporting CAP CLIA inspections and regulatory readiness.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to translate clinical needs into technical solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Troubleshooting complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Beaker workflows, order sets, and result reporting functions.
  • Develop and maintain HL7 interfaces with external reference labs, including test compendium mapping, order/result code alignment, and specimen routing rules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve interface issues in collaboration with middleware teams and third-party vendors.
  • Coordinate with LIS teams, lab leadership, and clinical stakeholders to gather requirements and optimize workflows.
  • Support system upgrades, regression testing, and change management processes.
  • Provide tier-2/3 support for lab-related incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards in lab data exchange.
  • Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
