About The Position

What you will be doing: Join the Energy, Environmental, Mining, and Transportation Division in any of our offices. Draft and negotiate EPC and balance of plant agreements, as well as equipment supply contracts. Work on energy projects such as wind, solar, or gas generating facilities, battery storage facilities, and electrical transmission projects. Draft and negotiate agreements related to the EPC contracting framework, including subcontracts and vendor agreements. Draft and negotiate asset management agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, long-term service agreements, and service contracts. Engage in transactional work in commercial construction, particularly with design-build agreements. Participate in EPC- and construction-related matters as part of a team of attorneys. Apply creative, strategic, and analytical thinking to resolve complex legal issues. Maintain relationships with clients in the renewable energy and power generation sectors. Identify new business opportunities and follow trends in the renewable energy industry.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years of legal experience.
  • Significant experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements.
  • Experience in developing and constructing energy projects.
  • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to take significant responsibility for drafting and negotiating relevant agreements.
  • Experience with major equipment vendors and service providers.
  • Active license to practice law or ability to waive in to practice in the desired location.
  • Exceptional academic performance with excellent research and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Litigation experience on EPC- and construction-related matters is a plus.
  • Experience working as part of a team on EPC- and construction-related matters.
  • Partner-level candidates with portable business are encouraged to apply.
