EPC Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the paper machine project. This includes ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical and quality standards, from construction through commissioning and handover. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Engineering Management Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process). Review and approve: Design (headbox, stock preparation, forming section, mechanical drive, machine control system, air systems, showers, vacuum system) P&IDs, GA drawings, layouts, and process flow diagrams Ensure compliance with: Client specifications Industry standards (TAPPI, ISO, etc.) Manage design interfaces between: Paper machine OEM Balance of plant systems (stock prep, utilities, water systems, air systems) Oversee optimization of performance (speed, basis weight range). Procurement & Vendor Management (Major equipment has been procured) Assist with procurement of auxiliary equipment (pumps, piping, tanks, foundations) Evaluate and select contractors in coordination with commercial team. Manage contracts, expediting, and inspections. Ensure timely delivery of long-lead items. Coordinate with OEMs for installation and commissioning support. Construction & Site Management Oversee site execution activities including: Civil works (foundations/piling) Structural erection Mechanical installation Electrical and instrumentation work Ensure adherence to: Health, Safety & Environment standards Construction schedules and milestones Coordinate contractors and subcontractors. Resolve site issues and constructability challenges. Project Planning & Control Develop and maintain: Project schedule (MS Project) Cost estimates and budgets Commissioning & Start-Up Plan and supervise: Pre-commissioning (flushing, loop checks, trials) Commissioning of paper machine and auxiliary systems Coordinate performance tests: Speed trials Quality parameters (basis weight, smoothness/formation) Ensure achievement of guaranteed performance levels. Manage punch list closure and final acceptance. Stakeholder & Contract Management Act as primary interface between: Client Contractors OEM suppliers Manage contract scope and variations. Conduct technical and progress meetings. Ensure clear communication across all stakeholders. Quality Assurance & Compliance Implement QA/QC procedures across all phases. Ensure inspections and testing comply with standards. Oversee documentation: As-built drawings O&M manuals Commissioning reports Handover & Project Closeout Ensure smooth handover to operations team. Deliver all project documentation. Close contracts and finalize financials. Capture lessons learned for future projects.
