This role is for an experienced Environmental Technician (Remediation) with 2-4 years of experience in relevant environmental remediation work. The technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of remediation systems - including stormwater treatment, oil & gas equipment, and various mechanical components like blowers, pumps, and thermal/catalytic oxidizers.

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience with remediation systems, maintenance, and data collection required.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work under inclement weather conditions.
  • Stable employment history and favorable employment references.
  • Track record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Background and drug screening.
  • Own reliable transportation.
  • Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair remediation systems.
  • Perform remediation system operations and maintenance.
  • Perform soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
  • Perform site inspections and other data collection.
  • Gather field operation and maintenance data in a neat and organized manner.
  • Optimize remediation systems including soil vapor extraction systems, thermal oxidizers, catalytic oxidizers, groundwater extraction and product recovery systems.
  • Install, operate, and maintain groundwater pumps.
  • Travel to various local remediation system locations.
  • Use environmental field instruments including water quality meters, pressure and vacuum meters/gauges, PID/FIDs, and other gas meters.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to operate, maintain, and optimize the various remediation systems.
  • Understand system permits-to-operate and conduct operation of the systems in accordance with the respective permits
