About The Position

Performs routine building cleaning under supervision, including but not limited to: mopping, dusting, and sweeping, trash removal, window cleaning, disinfecting patient rooms, cleaning laboratories, and interacting with patients in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building cleaning including mopping, dusting, sweeping, trash removal, and window cleaning.
  • Disinfect patient rooms and clean laboratories.
  • Interact with patients in a hospital environment.
  • Remove all trash, linens, and red bags as needed in PRE-OP / PACU / INPATIENT AREAS/ PHARMACY/MED SURG.
  • Wipe down sink, countertops, desk, tables, and chairs in PRE-OP / PACU / INPATIENT AREAS/ PHARMACY/MED SURG.
  • Mop entire area daily in PRE-OP / PACU / INPATIENT AREAS/ PHARMACY/MED SURG.
  • Clean bedside tables daily in PRE-OP / PACU / INPATIENT AREAS/ PHARMACY/MED SURG.
  • Detail/clean bathrooms, including sinks, counters, and toilets several times a day.
  • Restock toilet tissue and paper towels several times a day in bathrooms.
  • Check for overall cleanliness in bathrooms.
  • Mop entire bathroom.
  • Turn off all lights in designated areas.
  • Clean windows twice a week in designated areas.
  • Dust everything in all areas twice a week.
  • Check paper supplies/soaps/bags daily.
  • Remove all trash daily in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Mop entire area daily in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Turn off all lights in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Change black rugs once a week in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Dust equipment, signs, picture frames twice a week in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Clean all windows/doors once a week in ENDOSCOPY / PRE-OP ROOM.
  • Check waiting room for cleanliness and straighten magazines several times a day in FRONT LOBBY AREA SEATING AREA.
  • Dust tables, pictures, lights, and signs daily in FRONT LOBBY AREA SEATING AREA.
  • Vacuum floor daily in FRONT LOBBY AREA SEATING AREA.
  • Sweep and mop tiled area daily in FRONT LOBBY AREA SEATING AREA.
  • Sweep outside entry and pick up trash.
  • Empty and clean ashtrays.
  • Empty trash at entrance.
  • Remove trash from coffee bar.
  • Clean countertop and sink several times a day at coffee bar.
  • Mop floor at coffee bar.
  • Check paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers several times a day and refill as needed in waiting area restrooms.
  • Detail clean waiting area restrooms daily, including toilets, sinks, and counters.
  • Mop floor in waiting area restrooms.
  • Remove all trash daily in business office / administration office.
  • Turn off all lights in business office / administration office.
  • Dust chairs, pictures, cabinets, windowsills twice a week in business office / administration office.
  • Dust and wipe down desks and countertops twice a week in business office / administration office.
  • Clean business office interior windows once a week.
  • Vacuum in business office / administration office.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, and toilets daily in locker rooms.
  • Check toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap in locker rooms.
  • Vacuum entire area in locker rooms.
  • Mop bathroom floors in locker rooms.
  • Turn off all lights in locker rooms.
  • Empty trash in locker rooms.
  • Empty scrubs in locker rooms.
  • Remove all trash daily in lounge and rear entry area.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, tables in lounge and rear entry area.
  • Straighten chairs, tables, magazines, counters, etc. in lounge and rear entry area.
  • Mop kitchen floor and rear entry floors in lounge and rear entry area.
  • Turn off all lights in lounge and rear entry area.
  • Clean rear entry windows twice a week.
  • Remove all trash from building daily.
  • Dust/wipe down all phones daily.
  • Place orders for supplies as necessary.
  • Keep exterior of facility free of debris.
  • Keep dumpster area clean and gates closed.
  • Empty trash cans as needed on the exterior.
  • Clean all windows and doors as needed on the exterior.
  • Clean all floors throughout facility on a regular basis to insure cleanliness and maintenance of floor finishes.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use and operation of various types of floor maintenance products.
  • Understand the use and compatibility of various types and brands of floor maintenance products.
  • Vacuum all carpet throughout the facility on a regular basis.
  • Spot clean carpet as determined though periodic inspection.
  • Assist with managing inventory of floor cleaning supplies.
  • Report needed repairs and maintenance of floor cleaning equipment.
  • Meet dress code standards and adhere to policies.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, complete work within designated time.
  • Wear identification while on duty, use computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Complete in-services and return in a timely fashion.
  • Attend annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
  • Attend staff meetings annually or read and return all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department.
  • Assist other staff members in performing any duty that enhances the delivery of patient care.
