About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated Environmental Service Assistant I to help maintain a sanitary and healing space for our patients, visitors, and caregivers at Christiana Hospital - Newark campus. This part-time role involves ensuring all patient, office, and hospital areas are clean and sanitary, maintaining equipment and supply closets, replenishing supplies, safely cleaning/disinfecting precaution rooms, and responding to service requests. The position requires upholding a helpful, service-oriented attitude and safely handling trash, linen, and soiled equipment. The role is crucial for creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, aligning with ChristianaCare's mission of love and excellence.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Strong hygiene and confidentiality practices
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout your shift
• Comfort using smartphones/PDA for assignments
• Must be able to access organizational emails
• Safety glasses required at all times

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma
• 2 years of customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure all patient, office, and hospital areas are clean and sanitary
• Maintain equipment and supply closets in safe, orderly condition
• Replenish paper and soap supplies
• Safely clean/disinfect precaution rooms
• Respond promptly to service requests via phone/text
• Attend training sessions and report maintenance issues
