About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated Environmental Service Assistant I to help maintain a sanitary and healing space for patients, visitors, and caregivers at Christiana Hospital - Newark campus. This part-time, evening shift role is crucial for creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, aligning with ChristianaCare's mission of love and excellence. The position involves ensuring all patient, office, and hospital areas are clean and sanitary, maintaining equipment and supply closets, replenishing supplies, safely cleaning precaution rooms, responding to service requests, attending training, reporting maintenance issues, upholding a service-oriented attitude, and safely handling trash, linen, and soiled equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Strong hygiene and confidentiality practices
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout your shift
• Comfort using smartphones/PDA for assignments
• Must be able to access organizational emails
• Safety glasses required at all times

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma
• 2 years of customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure all patient, office, and hospital areas are clean and sanitary
• Maintain equipment and supply closets in safe, orderly condition
• Replenish paper and soap supplies
• Safely clean/disinfect precaution rooms
• Respond promptly to service requests via phone/text
• Attend training sessions and report maintenance issues
• Uphold a helpful, service-oriented attitude throughout your shift
• Safely handle trash, linen, and soiled equipment
