About The Position

The mission of the Department of Defense (DoD) Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) is to demonstrate innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet DoD's environmental and installation energy challenges. SERDP and ESTCP’s Resource Conservation and Resilience (RC) program area supports the development of the science, technologies, and methods needed to manage DoD’s installation infrastructure with the goal of maximizing the number of training days and mission readiness. Areas of investment include managing threatened, endangered, at-risk, and invasive species; improved wild land and beneficial fire management for testing and training ranges and enhancing the resilience of DoD infrastructure. Noblis provides technical and programmatic support in the broad area of resource conservation and resilience to execute the mission of these DoD Programs. We seek to identify personnel with knowledge and experience in this area to join our team of talented professionals to successfully support the strategic goals of SERDP and ESTCP. This is a client-facing position. The successful applicant will work within the RC team supporting SERDP and ESTCP to: Monitor financial and technical progress of research and demonstration projects. Tasks include but are not limited to tracking action items, responding to questions from project teams, identifying and managing lagging projects, and collaborating with other Noblis team members to monitor progress. Assist in the management of a portfolio of over 150 active projects, which includes, but is not limited to, the topics of resource conservation, invasive species, biodiversity, ecosystem management, and wildland fires. Support the proposal selection process by facilitating online and in-person technical reviews and organizing review meetings. Provide logistical and administrative support during the meetings. Plan, prepare for, and participate in a wide range of meetings, workshops, and conferences. This includes, but is not limited to, developing agendas, presentations, and other associated materials. Support a wide range of in-person and virtual meetings, workshops, and conferences. Represent the client, staff conference booths, attend technical sessions, and gather relevant information to inform the program’s research and topic development. Develop technology transfer and outreach materials such as writing blogs, social media content, and presentations. Participate in the development process of research and demonstration solicitation topics. Tasks include but are not limited to performing online literature research, analysis of past projects, and conducting stakeholder interviews. Collaborate directly with Principal Investigators to increase consistency in project performance and financial reporting. Develop and execute other program-related initiatives as needed. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment by supporting other areas of the Noblis team as needed. Build a strong relationship with the RC Program Manager and serve as a liaison between project teams and the SERDP and ESTCP Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Sustainability, or similar science degrees
  • 0-2 years of professional experience working in a field related to natural resource management, sustainability, environmental sciences, climate resilience, water resources, or biodiversity
  • U.S. citizenship
