About The Position

Riparia Environmental is seeking an Environmental Restoration Project Manager for their team in Vancouver, WA. This role involves overseeing and managing environmental restoration projects such as habitat, wetland, and stream restoration, or similar ecological projects. The Project Manager will lead, schedule, and train field teams, ensuring accurate documentation of project progress, site conditions, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include assessing project sites, determining necessary actions, and overseeing the implementation of plans to meet project goals. The Project Manager will also serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships and growing Riparia's client portfolio. This position requires a strong understanding of restoration practices, ecological regulations, and the technical aspects of restoration project management. As the region grows, there is an increasing need for habitat and ecological restoration, making this role crucial for preserving and revitalizing natural spaces. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual capable of effectively managing field crews while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. Riparia Environmental, a subsidiary of MacKay Sposito, specializes in environmental compliance, ecological restoration, and stormwater management in the Pacific Northwest, collaborating with various disciplines to meet client needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing and directing field crews on ecological or restoration projects, with strong time management and organizational skills.
• 2+ years of experience in client contract management.
• Direct experience in ecological or habitat restoration and familiarity with applicable regulations and best management practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to read, understand, and verify construction plans, environmental permits, and best management practices related to restoration projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe software.
• Certification or the ability to obtain relevant certifications in restoration management, such as Licensed Herbicide Applicator, Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), etc.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles is required.
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate prior to employment.
• Physical ability to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist, and work in the outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely.
• Passing a pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record report.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage and nurture client relationships from start to finish including outreach, communication, negotiation, and contract management.
• Drive business growth by cultivating new client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand into new geographical markets.
• Lead and oversee crew members in the execution of restoration projects ensuring quality, and adherence to standards.
• Perform on-site inspections and assessments of restoration sites.
• Train field crews on how to perform on-site inspections and assessments of restoration sites.
• Ensure field crews accurately document site conditions, completed work, and required follow-up actions.
• Prepare and deliver clear project updates and assessment reports including written summaries, verbal reports, and supporting photographs.
• Maintain and enhance project tracking systems within Vantagepoint to track progress, site evaluations, and ongoing or seasonal restoration activities.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, resource allocation, and adherence to financial targets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project schedules, ensuring work progresses on time by proactively monitoring timelines and addressing potential delays.
