About The Position

TTL is seeking a mid-level to senior geologist or engineer to support our Alabama operations. The ideal candidate will bring diverse environmental consulting experience, strong communication and client interaction skills, and well-developed project management abilities. Responsibilities include leading field investigations, reviewing and interpreting technical data, preparing proposals and cost estimates and developing technical reports. This role will also play a key part in company advocacy and business development efforts as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Environmental Engineering or related field required; M.S. preferred.
  • Alabama P.G. or P.E. License required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 5 to 10+ years of progressive professional experience in environmental consulting. Experience with due diligence and remedial investigations required.
  • Experience with state site investigations requirements including the AEIRG
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies including the ARBCA Manual
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be calm under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with the ability to solve problems and recommend solutions.
  • Must have strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead field investigations to collect geologic data, including soil and rock samples, groundwater samples, and surface water samples.
  • Analyze maps, drawings, test results, and aerial imagery to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrology, and other geologic or topographical characteristics
  • Prepare accurate reports, data sheets, and technical documentation summarizing environmental data, analyses, findings, and recommendations for clients and regulatory agencies
  • Oversee project management functions including safety oversight, scheduling, cost control, staffing, invoicing, proposal preparation, and report review
  • Maintain effective communication and strong working relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors and contribute to business development efforts as part of a coordinated team
  • Stay informed on evolving environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices
