The Environmental Manager role is responsible for leading and managing environmental compliance and performance at an assigned Ergon business units. This role ensures compliance with applicable environmental regulations, supports operational excellence, and promotes a strong culture of environmental stewardship. The Environmental Manager works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and corporate environmental teams to identify environmental risks, implement effective controls, and drive continuous improvement. This role will support Ergon's Integrated Services and Logistics business segment.

Requirements

  • Appropriate candidates to fill this role will have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science , Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental management or compliance within an industrial, manufacturing, or energy-related environment
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations related to air, water, waste, and spill prevention
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and managing inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Manage environmental permits, including monitoring, recordkeeping, reporting, and renewals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and inspections.
  • Implement and maintain site environmental programs, procedures, and management systems.
  • Oversee compliance with air emissions limits, water discharge requirements, waste management standards, and spill prevention plans.
  • Manage environmental monitoring, sampling, and data reporting.
  • Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation.
  • Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation and prevention strategies.
  • Lead or support investigations of environmental incidents, deviations, or non-compliances.
  • Coordinate spill response, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external environmental audits and follow-up actions.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to integrate environmental requirements into daily operations.
  • Review management of change (MOC) items, capital projects, and process changes for environmental
  • Working knowledge of PHMSA/DOTD Pipeline and USCG
  • Promote environmental awareness and accountability across the organization.
