About The Position

ASRC Federal Netcentric Technology, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to support our on-going programs with NOAA Fairbanks Key Role: Develop and direct the implementation of appropriate plans and procedures to meet federal, state, and local regulations. Identify hazards and implement continuous improvement corrective actions. Maintain copies of all tests, certifications, permits, and other required records, and provide copies to the Government. Identify gaps in existing processes and procedures, resolve procedural issues, coordinate process workshops etc. Manage internal audits and QEHS control programs. Conduct workplace safety inspections and monitor program metrics and initiate improvement actions based on quality data trend analysis. Track and manage corrective actions to completion and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Conduct internal investigations for compliance or mishap issues and work with corporate and HR to manage worker’s compensation claims. Work with program management and customer contacts. Good understanding of OSHA, EPA and safety requirements. Ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards. Ability to support incident investigations to determine causes and systemic corrective actions. Ability to perform gap analysis and determine training needs, organize and conduct training. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, including the ability to interact with employees in a nonconfrontational manner.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of work experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or similar field.
  • Ability to pass a government sponsored background investigation and fingerprint check.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable (sss.gov).
  • Ability to obtain EM385-1-1, and 30-hour OSHA Card, within 90 days.
  • Ability to obtain QEHS credential within 90 days.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to contract requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in safety, business, or related field.
  • Combination of education and experience – that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
