About The Position

Kayem’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs across Kayem food manufacturing and distribution operations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture that supports operational excellence, food safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs aligned with Kayem Foods policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MassDEP, local and State regulatory standards applicable to food manufacturing operations.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and lead all inspections, audits, and corrective action responses.
Lead safety programs including LOTO, confined space, machine guarding, ergonomics, powered industrial trucks, and contractor safety.
Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
Utilizing Alchemy, develop EHS training programs for all levels of the organization.
Partners with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and QA to drive a strong safety and food safety culture.
Track and analyze safety and environmental performance metrics and report trends to leadership.
Support GFSI, customer, and regulatory audits as they relate to EHS programs.
Assist / support emergency response planning, spill response, and crisis management activities.
Promote and sustain continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance.
Acts as senior EHS subject matter expert and mentor to site leadership.
Maintain all Safety related & BRC documentation and document control.
Other duties or special projects as assigned.
