This position reports to: Manufacturing Unit Manager __ As the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, ensuring that every employee returns home safely and that our facility operates in full harmony with environmental regulations. This role includes direct supervisory responsibility for the onsite Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) and Safety Specialist. The work model for this role is: Onsite

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience managing waste streams, air permits, and water usage programs to minimize the facility’s environmental footprint.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence rather than positional authority.
  • Strong analytical skills, including safety data tracking, reporting, and trend analysis.
  • Must be able to work across three shifts when necessary.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HSE management systems (e.g., Intelex, Gensuite, or similar platforms) is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with line managers and supervisors to lead safety and environmental initiatives and ensure understanding of HSE obligations, liabilities, and requirements.
  • Develop and sustain a high‑performance safety culture that drives behavioral change, operational excellence, and alignment with standards and best practices.
  • Maintain effective HSE tools, measures, and processes are in place, including timely incident reporting and performance tracking against Group objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NMED regulations, as well as Group management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001), through audits and proactive risk assessments.
