Environmental Health & Safety Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Wonderful Scholar for full time internship. In this position, you will gain hands on professional experience and learn how the department runs. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Safety Project work includes: Safety Form Development - take existing safety forms and enter Enablon Safety Database. Fulcrum - Perform safety observations and enter results into Fulcrum. Perform first aid kit and fire extinguisher inspections. Support additional safety project needs Learn about all components of a safety program including: safety training, accident investigation, employee coaching and facility/jobsite inspections. Work environment/conditions: Combination office/field work; Orchard conditions are extreme, with summer temperatures regularly exceeding 100 F°.
Requirements
- Must be a Wonderful Scholar in Sophomore, Junior, or senior year of college.
- Enrolled in accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program with studies focused on Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Compliance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
- Energetic and able to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Ability to write and present reports as requested.
- Computer Proficient in Word, and Excel, and use of the internet.
- CA Valid Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
