This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial safety programs, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production setting.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend time on the production floor.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily safety floor audits and hazard identification.
  • Support incident investigations by collecting statements, photos, and documentation.
  • Help track and analyze safety performance metrics (near misses, first aid cases, recordables).
  • Assist in maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory records.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development and risk assessments.
  • Support environmental compliance activities (waste management, stormwater inspections, air permit documentation).
  • Conduct PPE and machine guarding compliance audits.
  • Assist with safety training materials and toolbox talks.
  • Support emergency preparedness drills and response planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
