About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the EHS Manager in the administration and coordination of environmental, health, and safety programs, with a primary focus on managing the company’s Temporary Light Duty program related to workers’ compensation cases. This role serves as a key point of contact between injured employees, management, medical providers, and internal teams to ensure compliance, timely communication, and accurate documentation throughout the light duty and return-to-work process. Light Duty and Workers’ Compensation Coordination: Coordinate with department leaders to identify appropriate light duty assignments that align with employee medical work restrictions. Act as liaison between the employer, injured employee, managers, supervisors, nurse case managers, medical providers, and workers’ compensation insurance carriers. Track Light Workers Compensation Program including but not limited to medical visit assignments, work restrictions and follow-up appointments.Coordinate with local and Corporate HR. Maintain detailed records. Protect employee confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations. Notify appropriate personnel when an employee is released to full duty. General EHS Support: Assist the EHS Manager with administrative, reporting, and coordination tasks related to EHS programs and compliance initiatives. Support audits, training coordination, and EHS documentation as assigned. Perform other EHS-related duties as needed to support departmental goals. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Workers’ Compensation, or a related administrative or coordination role. Basic working knowledge of workers’ compensation processes, return-to-work, or light duty programs. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and follow-ups. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, medical providers, insurance carriers, and internal teams. High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using HRIS systems. Familiarity with state workers’ compensation requirements, particularly Texas, is a plus. Familiarity with Origami is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
